How many of you struggle with job interviews? Of course whenever we face interviews, we can have the tendency to be extremely nervous and excited at the same time. We tend to be over fixated on the outcome or expectation of securing the job and that fixation can rob us of feeling satisfied or make us feel like we failed or lost something that we desired. This is quite normal and is not wrong. However, there are other perspectives that we can adopt that will change the whole energy of the interview and heighten our chances of securing the employment that we desire.
Always keep in mind that you are always the winner!
Yes, you expect to get the job, but what if you did not? You are still a winner as you won extremely valuable experience, practice, and insight at the very least. When you start the interview knowing that you are a winner no matter what the outcome is, your natural winner energy will easily come out which will be evident in how you respond to questions. You will also naturally feel more confident to shine and be authentic as you have already detached from the outcome and embraced the energy of gratitude in advance for the experience.
You are interviewing the company!
Always be proud of yourself and what you have to offer the company. Remember who you are and the power that you have to make positive contributions to wherever you may find employment. Yes, you may need a job, but remember that the company also needs employees or human capital. Do not disempower yourself by giving all of your power to the recruiter or interviewer. Ask questions that you might have about the company and the culture that is has. Show that you see your high value and that you are not just looking for any job, but the job and company that matches with your value and how you see yourself. Be proud of yourself for facing the interview in the first place. You are confidently the winner and the company will be so lucky to have such a valuable person (YOU) as one of its employees.
REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ALWAYS THE WINNER! Now smile and go get that job you desire! What do you have to lose? NOTHING!
